System Architecture
How HydroVision Works
A complete hardware and software system that captures swim performance data automatically during practice. No manual timing. No syncing. No coaching workflow changes.
Physical Layer
The Hardware
Three components work together. Each is designed for pool environments: high humidity, chlorine, and daily use.
Smart Lane Discs
Installed once per lane. Optical sensors embedded directly into lane lines. Tracks position, detects finishes with millisecond accuracy. No batteries to replace.
Swimmer Tags
Worn during practice. Competition-legal profile. Automatic stroke, turn, and push-off detection. Inductive charging, no buttons, no pairing required.
Deck-side Hub
One per pool. Collects all sensor data, fuses swimmer positions, and streams to coach devices in real time. Plug in, connect to WiFi, done.
Invisible Work
The Data Flow
What happens between the pool and your screen. No coach interaction required.
Motion is captured underwater
Tags detect acceleration, orientation, and stroke patterns. Lane discs sense swimmer position optically. Data is captured at high frequency, continuously.
Signals travel through the pool
Low-frequency transmission designed for underwater. Data from all lanes reaches the deck-side hub without interference or dropout.
Hub processes and fuses data
The hub correlates tag data with lane disc positions. Identifies each swimmer, calculates splits, stroke rates, and turn times. All processing happens on-device.
Data appears live on deck
Metrics stream to your tablet, phone, or laptop. No refresh needed. No delay. See every lap as it happens.
What You See
The Coach View
Every metric designed for a glance. No dense charts. No learning curve.
Automation
After Practice
When practice ends, reports generate automatically. Trends persist across sessions. No uploads. No syncing. No manual work.
